Professional Avalanche Training in Australia

Blizzard Academy has partnered with the Canadian Avalanche Association (CAA) to deliver professional-level avalanche courses in Australia. Blizzard offers the first steps on the professional pathway for aspiring ski guides, avalanche forecasters, and operational mountain professionals in Australia.

Avalanche Search & Rescue Level 1 (AvSAR 1)
July 28–31, 2026 (4 days)
Horizons Lake Jindabyne (classroom) + field training across Kosciuszko National Park. Entry-level CAA course covering essential avalanche search and rescue skills. Required before progressing to Ops 1.

Operations Level 1 (Ops 1)
September 7–13, 2026 (7 days)
TarGanGil Ski Lodge, Charlotte Pass (Oversnow access, accommodation & meals included). Professional-level training for those pursuing work in avalanche operations, including forecasting, risk management, and field decision-making.

Pathway & Cost
AvSAR 1 is required before Ops 1.
