Professional Avalanche Training in Australia
Blizzard Academy has partnered with the Canadian Avalanche Association (CAA) to deliver professional-level avalanche courses in Australia. Blizzard offers the first steps on the professional pathway for aspiring ski guides, avalanche forecasters, and operational mountain professionals in Australia.
Avalanche Search & Rescue Level 1 (AvSAR 1) NSW - June 27–30, 2026 (4 days)
AvSAR 1 is the entry-level CAA course introducing essential avalanche search and rescue skills for first responders and team members. Prerequisite for Operations Level 1.
Operations Level 1 (Ops 1)
NSW - September 13–19, 2026 (7 days)
Avalanche Operations Level 1 is the premier in-person professional-level training course for those seeking employment with avalanche risk management operations such as ski resorts, highway and industrial operations, guiding, and recreational avalanche course instruction.
Course Pathway: To enrol in Operations Level 1 (Ops 1), participants must first enrol in AvSAR 1.
